About ChildWood
Hello,
For over 20 years, ChildWood Magnets has designed materials to help young children understand by doing. We take great pride in the quality of our product and in the wonderful relationship we have developed with so many early childhood educators and parents across the country. It is our hope that our new website will explain our mission and inspire you to make ChildWood a part of your classroom
In August 2005, we purchased ChildWood from the previous owners. When I heard that the owner planned to retire, I instantly felt that this would be a great opportunity for me and my family. I did not want to see the magnets disappear. It can be hard to find quality playthings for young children that last through the years and continue to delight the children that play with them. I learned this during the time I trained and worked as a preschool teacher.
I still have the original “Three Bears” on my fridge that my three teenagers played with as young children. Cameron, my husband, and I have since adopted five young children from the foster care system. Our younger ones play with the magnets as much as their older siblings but have a better selection of stories since mom owns the store now. It is nice to be close to home and to be able to do work that I truly love.
Some more updates are that we are expanding. We are adding many other magnetic play things to our ChildWood Collection. We will still have the same great magnet sets, and even a few new ones, but are adding many other items. We will have accessories, art, math and geography as well as others. As I searched for quality toys, I have been amazed at how many companies there are, with some really great products. Take some time and search our online selection. I hope you will be pleased with what we have selected. Remember to check back often as we will be adding many more in the next few months.
